All of the players mentioned are on the fringes of the first team or regulars in the reserves. Signing up all 5 suggests to me that McInally has kept them on board to beef up his squad for the 1st division which is a more physically demanding league that could well see us getting far more injuries next season.
I was surprised to see Alan Gilbride get a new deal as whenever I have seen him he's looked shaky at the back. Although, in saying that, he played very well against Forfar Athletic on the last day of the 2005/06 season and has impressed on loan at Largs Thistle this season.
Also of note were Black and Graham signing new contracts. Graham's dad had told me Brian was frustrated with his lack of first team chances on the back of his tremendous goalscoring record in the reserves. Black was supposedly unhappy with his new offer but it would seem that that rumour was garbage or he has settled for the offer on the table. Either way it's great news for Morton.
