According to Chris Fitzgerald in today's Greenock Telegraph Jim McInally is hoping to sign Guinean international goalkeeper Hamidou Camara after he impressed as a trialist against Dundee. The signing will be a short term solution as Camara is off to the African Nations Cup in January.
Camara played for Guinea as recently as the 13th of October. The match - a 2-1 loss away to Botswana - was a qualifier for the 2008 Olympic games. The Olympic games are played by players under 23 which would suggest his age and date of birth on the Guinea wikipedia page are wrong. The match report for the game (http://allafrica.com/stories/200710152093.html) describes Camara as 'well-built'.
Name: Hamidou Camara
Age: 26 (d.o.b - 4.10.81*)
Position: Goalkeeper
Nationality: Guinea
International: 39 caps*, o goals*
Former Clubs: AS Kaloum (Guinea), Ipswich Town*
* Information from the Guinea international team wikipedia page. I've no idea how correct it is.
