Brown Plays Mind Games

Clyde gaffer John Brown has attempted to emulate Alex Ferguson by introducing mind games in the run up to today's make-or-break fixtures.

Bomber has tried to take the pressure off his team and heap it on us by suggesting that we should be expected to stay up because of the new signings we were able to make between January and March. He, on the otherhand, has to get the best out of a squad of 'frees and bargains' brought to a club Brown claims has the second lowest budget in the league behind Stirling Albion.

The former Rangers and Dundee player told the Evening Times' Bert Mitchell: "Outside of Stirling Albion, who are the only part-time team in the First Division, we have the smallest budget by a mile. In that regard, Morton have been able to go out and sign three or four players from the SPL, and Gretna in particular, in a bid to help them beat the drop. Since January, I think they have signed Ryan McGuffie, Allan Jenkins and Erik Paartalu from Gretna and Brian Wake from Hamilton, and I would love to have had that luxury."
