- Morton are not on the verge of signing anyone - Davie Irons said: “We are not on the verge of signing anyone. We are considering all our options.”
- There are concerns over the wage budget - Davie Irons said: “There is only so much of a budget and we have to be careful of the numbers we bring in, if anyone at all. We don’t want to burden the club.”
- In addition to point 2. Irons also indicated that we may have to move out Jamie Stevenson, Kieran McAnespie or David MacGregor before we sign players.
- Former Clyde striker Gary Arbuckle is training with the club.
- Former Morecambe striker Jon Newby (pictured) is not training with the club but has been linked with us - Davie Irons said: “No, he’s [Newby] not been here. He has been brought to my attention, but we need to find out a bit more about him.”
- We will be signing a second goalkeeper but Irons would not reveal if this meant Kevin Cuthbert or Lee Robinson.
