2008/09 begins to tonight with a trip down the coast to Castle Douglas to watch Morton take on South of Scotland league side Threave Rovers in the first of nine pre-season friendlies.Morton will be without Ryan Harding, Stewart Greacen and Allan Jenkins who are all injured and Kieran Mcanespie who is training with Queen Of The South. But we will have new signings Colin Stewart, Allan McManus and Stevie Masterton available to make their non-competititve debuts.
We will also have 3 or 4 trialists according to Davie Irons in today's Greenock Telegraph: “We’ll be taking everyone who is fit to play, including three or four trialists”. Those 4 may or may not include Jon Newby, who looks set to sign for the club, and former Carlisle goalkeeper Adam Bradley (pictured, below) who has been training with the us according to Roger Graham. We are, however, still pursuing Lee Robinson and talks with Rangers are ongoing. Kevin Cuthbert definitely wont be coming to Cappielow.
