Miscellaneous: Declan came to Ton fans' attentions when the Greenock Telegraph revealed that Celtic, Aston Villa and Sunderland were tracking his progress after impressive performance for the under-17s and under-19s while just 15-years-old.
According to head of youth John Laird, Celtic had made verbal offers of between £25,000 and £35,000 from Celtic - but those were rejected.
Towards the end of the 2010/11 season, Declan began travelling with the first-team squad in order gain experience of what it would be like to be in and around the top team.
He made his first appearance for the club in a 4-0 Renfrewshire Cup semi-final victory over Carlton YMCA on 3 May, 2010 - and scored after coming off the bench at half-time.
Four days later, he was an unused substitute in the final game of the 2010-11 First Division season - a 3-2 defeat away to already-relegated Stirling Albion.
Although born in Greenock, he is from nearby Dunoon.
