Miscellaneous: McAfee came to Ton fans' attentions when the Greenock Telegraph revealed that Aston Villa were tracking his progress after impressive performance for the under-19s.
At the time, then-head of youth John Laird said: "The Villa scout also came to talk to me about Steven McAfee after we had played a game against the Celtic under-19s. Steven played really well in that match and he scored a wonderful goal from about 30 yards."
He made his first appearance for the club in a 4-0 Renfrewshire Cup semi-final victory over Carlton YMCA on 3 May, 2010 - and scored after coming off the bench in the 59th minute.
McAfee left the club early in the 2011-12 season. There was no mention or official reason given by the club for his departure. But rumours on the unofficial fans' forum suggested he quit.
