Davie Irons has today denied that Iain Russell will be leaving Morton in the near future.
In Monday's Scottish Sun Bill Leckie exclusively revealed that Alloa were lining up the former Brechin striker as a replacement for Greig Spence who has signed for Celtic for £100,000.
However, when asked about Leckie's story by The Greenock Telegraph's Andrew Forrester Irons suggested it was nonsense, he said: "I had heard about the story but I don't know where it came from. I know Allan very well and also know how he goes about his business. He would've been in touch if there was any interest, so as far as I'm concerned there's nothing going on."
Morton paid Brechin £40,000 for Russell two years ago and his contract expires next summer.
