He was selected to play in Stanley Matthews Testimonial Match at the Victoria Ground, Stoke in 1965.

Johansen didn't win any of his caps while at Morton.

In a chapter on South African football in Football Against The Enemy author Simon Kuper tells how on the 18th of February 1977 manager Kai Johansen picked black goalkeeper / striker Vincent Julius to play for his Arcadia Shepherds team in a match in the white-only league. As a result the South African government decided to merge the white and black leagues and allow the players to play side-by-side for the first time

The 1963/64 stats are taken from Graeme Ross' More Morton Greats. Neil Brown's online database has it as a total of 33 appearances but Brown's site only lists statistics for league matches so I'm unsure of the exact number of matches Johansen played for Morton.
