Share Issue To Help Pay For Redevelopment Of Cappielow

In a front page exclusive the Greenock Telegraph's Russell Steele reveals that Morton plan to use money from a share issue to make Cappielow SPL compliant.

At last week's EGM a resolution to make one million new shares available at 75p was passed. It was also revealed that should all the shares be sold £750,000 would be raised and this would be put towards upgrading Cappielow.

Douglas Rae is quoted as saying that it would cost £2 million to bring the ground up to the required standards.

The article also says: 'The club also confirmed people are already interested in putting cash into the club, but could not disclose their identity'. To make one million shares available the club must be expecting substantial investment from those interested; one of whom has to be Alistair Donald, surely.
