Weatherson's Out For 2 Matches

The SFA have suspended Peter Weatherson for two matches following his straight red card at Peterhead last Saturday (pictured, left).

The Refereeing and Disciplinary section of the SFA website has a list of suspensions incurred between 22/11/2008 and 30/11/2008 and beside Weatherson's name, and under the heading 'suspensions', it says:

1 SFL First Team match immediate and 1 SFL First Team matches from 13/12/2008

This means that Peter will miss our next two matches: Partick Thistle at Cappielow on Saturday and St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park a week later.

Peter's absence leaves Davie Irons short of striking options. James Grady has recovered from a back injury but hasn't been able to train because this week's adverse weather conditions have meant that Morton have struggled to find adequate training facilities. Irons spoke about his striking problems in today's Scottish Sun (pictured, below): "We're missing Peter Weatherson, who is suspended, and we need James as cover. But unfortunately we've struggled to find somewhere for him to run because of the weather."
