According to a snippet in the soccer shorts section of yesterday's Daily Record Morton are competing with Airdrie United to sign Joe Ruesgen (pictured, left and below).As far as I can see Ruesgen is a defender who spent some time in the USA playing soccer at college while majoring in Athletic Training. In the summer he left the USA to play for Moldovan side Nistru Otaci. The piece in the Record states that he is currently "locked in a dispute with Moldovan outfit Nistru Otaci". A post on the Morton unofficial messageboard suggests that this is because Nistru are struggling to pay their wage bill.
