Whenever Morton invite applications for the vacant manager's position, you'll hear fans suggest that no one would want the job or that there's no one available - but they'd be surprised at the number of people you wouldn't even think of who actually apply to take over the Cappielow hotseat.
One such example would be former Scottish internationalist Kenny Burns, who applied for the job earlier this season, according to the Scottish Sun.
Burns, who won two European Cups and one European Super Cup under Brian Clough at Nottingham Forest, is eager to get a break in management and told the Sun about his ambitions to manage in the Scottish First Division. "I just need the chance to prove that I could be invaluable to a lot of the First Division clubs in Scotland," he told Jim Black. "I applied for the Morton job earlier in the season and got a reply saying 'no thanks'.
"All I am asking for is several months, and if you don't see an improvement in that time, I'll walk away."
