Twigg Ignores Morton Bid

A couple of days ago a rumour posted on the greenockmorton.net forum linked Morton with a move for Airdrie United striker Gary Twigg. Today this rumour was confirmed by an article in the Greenock Telegraph (7.6.07).

Jim McInally told the Tele's Chris Fitzgerald that he had offered Twigg a deal and that Twigg said he would get back to him - but didn't.

As far as McInally is concerned the deal is dead and he will now be looking at other targets. He said that he is pursuing an experienced goalkeeper and that 'SPL agents' have offered him players.

If I'm being honest I don't really know that much about Twigg. I don't think I have seen him play and I haven't read that much about him so it's difficult to comment on how good a signing he could have been. The fact that he began his career at Derby where he played 8 games in the Premiership after making his debut at 17 suggests that he could have been a decent signing.
