The Greenock Telegraph's David Christie writes that Irons was not keen to name the trialists but he did say: “They are both attacking midfielders. It is something I would like to have in our side, something a wee bit more creative in the final third. They got wee knocks in the Rangers match so we will give them a chance to recover before making any decision. One is a younger lad, the other more experienced. I don’t want to say too much at this stage, but one is from the SPL and another from an English side."
Christie's article also mentions that Jamie Stevenson (pictured, left) - who returned to the club in January after a loan spell at Alloa - has not been written off by Irons. The Morton manager suggests that Stevenson can force his way into the team.
In other news a 'Ton side made up of mostly fringe players and under-19s beat Ayr United 2-1 at Glasgow Green on Monday. Peter Weatherson and Iain Russell scored the goals.
