Davie Irons had admitted he will try to resurrect a deal to bring Fabian Yantorno on loan from Hibs after his loan move to Hamilton Accies fell through because they had filled their quota of loan signings for the season.Irons told the Greenock Telegraph's Roger Graham of his interest in Yantorno (pictured, left): “We are trying to resurrect something. I am in the middle of trying to get it back up and running. I want to see if we can get the player down to Cappielow and have a talk with him before the deadline.”
Yantorno has played against us twice - both for Gretna. He made his unofficial Gretna debut in a pre-season friendly against us at Raydale Park in July 2007 (I described his performance as very impressive in spells). In addition, the Uruguayan - who holds an Italian passport - scored the opener in the 2-2 Scottish Cup tie at Cappielow last season.
