Best British Strikers

The February edition of FourFourTwo magazine included a list of the 50 Best Strikers to play in the UK since the war and two ex-Morton players featured in the list - Joe Jordan finished 42nd and Stevie Chalmers came in at 26th.

The two strikers' spells at Morton were in stark contrast to each other. Jordan began his career at Cappielow, while Chalmers (pictured: posing for Morton's 1971/72 team photograph) wound down a glorious career, in which he scored Celtic's winning goal in the 1967 European Cup Final, with just under two seasons in Greenock.

Other Scots in the list included: Duggie Reid (50), Andy Gray (44), Ally McCoist (39), Billy Liddell (36), Lawrie Reilly (21), Denis Law (9) and Kenny Dalglish (1).

In terms of pure predatory ability McGraw left Jordan standing.
