The hastily arranged friendly between Morton and Lancaster City was cancelled around about 40 minutes before kick-off last night due to a large puddle forming in the corner of the pitch after a heavy burst of rain.The match was arranged to replace a friendly against Chester City - which was also rained off.
This second cancellation damages Morton's preparation for the new season and denied manager Jim McInally the chance to have a look at Slovenian trialist Jani Sturm in action.
Wednesday's match against Stenhousemuir should take on more significance as a result of tonight's events.
