Morton To Play Lancaster City

Morton have announced that we will now play Lancaster City tomorrow after the Chester City friendly was cancelled on Friday night.

Yesterday Douglas Rae entered the enclosure behind the Morecambe goal to tell the Morton support of the newly arranged match. Amazingly he then proceeded to vault the perimeter fence to cross the pitch to the mainstand however the athletic move didn't go according to plan as Rae landed on his backside after clearing the fence. Hopefully the only thing that was injured was our chairman's pride.

Lancaster currently play in the Northern Premier League Division One North after asking for a double relegation due to financial problems. They were originally relegated from the Nationwide Conference North after finishing 22nd in 2006/07.

I don't expect this to be much of a test but it's better than not playing anyone at all. According to http://www.gmfc.net/ Slovenian trialist Jani Sturm will play in the match.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm.
